DIABETIC EYE EXAMS

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of adult vision loss in the United States.  It is vitally important that all diabetics routinely have a dilated eye exam, even if your blood sugar appears to be under control.  This is usually recommended at least annually.  Unfortunately, diabetic retinopathy (damage to the retina) often has no early warning signs.  In addition, diabetes can place you at a greater risk for other types of eye problems including cataracts and glaucoma.  Fortunately, if caught early many of these conditions can be treated prior to visual problems being noticed.  Dr. Noble is highly trained and skilled in providing comprehensive diabetic eye exams.  He will work closely with your primary care provider and other members of your medical team and will provide them with pertinent information from your diabetic eye exam in order to better guide them in your treatment.  In the event it is determined that you should require specialized treatment or surgery, Dr. Noble will personally refer you to the appropriate specialist, and will continue with your care throughout the process.
